Overkill and adidas Revive the ZX 8000’s Made in France Colorway

The adidas ZX running line holds a special place in the hearts of European sneakerheads. This week, Overkill is resurrecting a grail, the Made in France colorway of the ZX 8000 for the first time ever.

Modern day sneaker manufacturing is largely done in Asia, but that was not always the case. In the 1980s and ’90s, adidas had spread their work across a range of European countries, including France, Italy, and their home in Germany. Factories were tasked with specific models and colorways, which have grown their own cult followings and collectible statuses over the past three-plus decades. This week, German retailer Overkill is reviving a highly sought-after pair for the very first time, the ZX 8000 Made in France colorway. Produced exclusively through a French manufacturing facility, this crisp white, grey, and light blue pair of the ZX 8000 runner is closing in on its thirty-fifth anniversary. The special color has never been reproduced after its original run, slowly garnering status as an ultimate collectors item in the past several decades. Thanks to Overkill, now modern sneakerheads can have a piece of adidas history with their rerelease of one of the rarest ZX shoes in existence.

OVERKILL X ADIDAS ZX 8000 “FRANCE” RELEASE INFORMATION

The latest project from German retailer Overkill and adidas has been scheduled to release this week, on August 2nd, 2026. The raffle from Overkill is open now, and closes on the 2nd with an online drop for any remaining pairs to follow. The “Made in France” colorway has been recreated for the first time after thirty-five years, and will be available exclusively through Overkill channels for approximately $135.
