The Latest Hellstar x adidas Shoe Is A Flame-Covered Megaride

In a mere matter of months, Hellstar has established itself as one of adidas’ most important new collaborators, speaking directly to a younger generation drawn to the alternative, punk-leaning streetwear aesthetics that defined much of the 2000s. Following the brand’s run of Superstar styles comes something new, with detailed images of a flame-covered Megaride sneaker now hitting the ‘net.

Images reposted by Hellstar founder Seanie Holland reveal elaborate black flame detailing across the entire upper, a natural extension of the brand’s logo and a recurring focal point throughout its adidas collaborations. The model is the adidas Megaride S2, a retro-inspired silhouette that debuted last year. Megaride cushioning anchors the heel, while the upper departs from the model’s standard construction with flush synthetics as opposed to a TPU cage. The zippered shroud is easily the model’s most overtly Y2K feature, providing a hardware-driven link back to the era Hellstar has operated within so successfully.
