The New Balance P400 Bounds Into “Bosyenberry”

It increasingly feels like a new era for New Balance hoops. Tyrese Maxey will be the first to release a signature shoe under the Boston brand since Kawhi Leonard, and while the “Board Man” remains appointment viewing when he’s healthy, there’s no doubt as to who will carry the NB banner into battle once he hangs ’em up. Leaning on the brand’s retro strengths, the P400 pairs a mesh upper with a chunky dual-cushioning setup of Fresh Foam X and EVA foams, built to withstand cuts, jumps, landings, and impacts on the court. To that hearty build, this latest colorway brings a nocturnal blend of “Black,” “Boysenberry,” and “Fan Blue.” That fruity palette keeps to a sporty, darkened script, while the aquatic neon accents underneath still provide the eye-catching contrast expected in the category.
