The pack was meant to pay homage to convenience store culture in Japan, though 7-Eleven apparently did not take kindly to the move, and filed a lawsuit against Nike. The Swoosh cancelled the release from their SNKRS calendar, but now the Lawson-themed pair has emerged, still on track for a drop this month.
Alongside 7-Eleven, Lawson is the other major chain of convenience stores across Japan. Their signature blue color scheme is the inspiration behind the Air Max 95 release, which is paired with light grey accents for the tongue and toes, a white mesh underlay, and red piping accents along each of the 95’s wavy layers. No direct nod to Lawson appears anywhere on the shoe, though the printed insole graphics depict a typical convenience store snack aisle.
